A2E attend “Derisking Subsea Geological Storage of CO2 in the UK” event
Jim Fraser of A2E limited attended this event which was jointly set up by the Scottish Sensor Systems centre (SSSC) and the Scottish Carbon Capture and Storage (SCCS) organisation. The event was held in the beautiful Duncan Rice library at the University of Aberdeen.
The day received a big boost by the budget announcement that Peterhead Power station had been selected as one of two CCS demonstration projects to progress to the next stage of the Government’s CCS Commercialisation Competition funding.
The speakers discussed the challenges of CO2 capture, transportation, storage, injection and storage along with legislative issues.
Undoubtably there are great technical challenges but these can be overcome resulting in huge benefits to the environment and to future generations.
